Speech, language, and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes such as cleft palate, stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, Down Syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, or Autism. Speech Language Pathologists employ many tactics and learning activities to help treat these conditions.
Medical Social Work
Medical Social Workers (MSWs) offer the support and resources that patients need in order to recover from an injury or illness typically resulting in emotional, physical, social, financial, psychological, or environmental concerns. Once an assessment is complete, our Medical Social Workers can then work together with other members of the patient’s family, as well as members of the patient’s health care team, to develop an individual plan of care. Medical Social Workers can help to arrange home care services, advocate for patients, provide appropriate referrals, and offer support groups many times through community resources helping patients become one step closer to recovery.
